From the Commander

May the Force — and purpose — be with you.

As we move into May, there's a natural sense of momentum in the air. The days grow longer, the pace quickens, and summer begins to peek over the horizon. Progress often comes one step, one choice, and one act of service at a time.

Whether you're caring for patients, supporting teammates, solving problems, or bringing compassion into difficult moments — you help move our mission forward every day. In your own, unique way, you are a force for good.

The journey of Renee Munoz.

Brandy Cardenas · Director of Talent Acquisition & Culture

Sunlit forest

Careers don't always begin with certainty, but they are often guided by purpose. For Renee Munoz, her journey at SAC Health reflects what happens when faith, resilience, and willingness come together.

In 2018, Renee began at SAC Health as a Care Coordinator in Population Health. From her very first impression, she sensed SAC Health was different — spiritual, full of opportunity, informative, and helpful.

I don't know everything, but I can learn it — and I have the will to do that.
— Renee Munoz

Her time in Population Health gave her a critical understanding of care gap closures and preventive care. In 2021, she transitioned into Care Management, walking alongside patients throughout their healthcare journey. In October 2025, she stepped into a new chapter as an Employee Health & Wellness Coordinator.

"I was charged double. Is this a mistake?"

Norma Lopez · Manager, People Operations

The short answer

When you're on unpaid leave, your benefit premiums may continue so your coverage stays active. If there isn't enough pay to deduct them during leave, the unpaid amounts are tracked as arrears — a balance owed for missed premium payments. Now that we've enabled the arrears feature in Paycom, those premiums are being collected based on your selected repayment option.

Your repayment options

Payroll deductions

Most common

Taken biweekly once you return to work. You'll see double deductions (current + missed) until your balance is fully repaid.

Check or money order

After-tax

Monthly payments due by the 1st with a 30-day grace period. Missed payments may result in cancellation of coverage.

PTO deductions

Flexible

Available PTO can be used during leave to cover premiums. Any remaining balance may still be deducted upon return.

Lump sum

All at once

Pay your full balance by check, money order, or a larger deduction on your first full payroll upon return.

Tame your inbox. Creating folders & rules.

Mervyn Osena · HRIS Analyst

Do you ever receive the same email from a website or platform — and it gets lost in your inbox? In Outlook, you can create a rule that automatically moves emails based on subject or sender into a folder of your choice.

  1. 01

    Create a folder

In Outlook, navigate to File → Rules and Alerts → Email Rules → New Rule → Next.

  2. 02

    Set your conditions

Select conditions like subject line or sender (for example, a Lattice folder for Lattice notifications).

  3. 03

    Move with one click

Right-click a common email, select Rules, then Always Move Messages From → choose your folder.

  4. 04

    Stay on top of it

Review incoming messages regularly. Right-click → Mark All as Read can reset your unread count.

Spiritual Care

Spiritual belonging.

Taylor Henry · Interim Director of Spiritual Care

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction."

2 Corinthians 1:3–4

From the moment we're born, we seek the feeling of knowing everything will be alright. Today, do we have the confidence to cry out when we need to be comforted? As we receive comfort, may our cup overflow so that we can come alongside others who are also in need of peace.
